Life is hard. Sometimes, life is really hard. We all have moments in our lives that bring us to our knees- both spiritually and physically. I’ve reached that place more times than I can count, and I know that I could have never made it through these times without help. Hoping for Light at the END of the tunnel wasn’t enough- because often, I knew that my trials would never end, even if they could improve temporarily. Instead, I knew that I needed to find hope WITHIN the very tunnel that I was traveling down.
I could’ve never made it through my own tunnel without the help of my friends, family, and God. My family has always been supportive of my needs and has sacrificed so much to get me the help and treatment that I need to live a happy, functional life. They never questioned if I was really as sick as I said, or pushed me to do more than I was capable of. I have also been blessed with a myriad of friends, leaders, and acquaintances that have been there for me when I needed them and have inspired me to keep going and to share what I have learned with others.
That’s why I am excited to partner with
@light.in.thetunnel to share YOUR STORIES about how you were able to find light, through the help of others, during even your darkest moments. Each month, we will feature a “light in the tunnel story”, where someone who felt like their trial would never end will share how the people around them gave them the light that they needed to make it through. Concerning this monthly feature, @light.in.thetunnel said:
“I feel fortunate to have been blessed by some amazing people in my life. True lights in the tunnel. In the next couple of months, I plan to take time to tell them how much they mean to me and how they have impacted my life. WOuld you like to join me and perhaps share your story? Every month, I will feature one on a blog and here! If yours is featured, you’ll receive a gift card to take this person out!”
